About the artist…
Susan is an award winning photographer and artist whose portraiture, fine art landscapes and photographic narrative work has been exhibited in various exhibitions and galleries. Susan also creates works in the ancient art of beeswax, resin, cold wax and pigment applied in photographic process.
“Flawed”, a work of encaustic painting, was featured as the exhibition catalogue cover for “Black & White”, Women’s Caucus for Art, Washington, D.C.. Multiple works have been awarded in international juried exhibitions. Susan has been awarded by the Connecticut Land Conservation Council, Fairfield Museum and History Center, and The Connecticut River Valley Land Trusts. “Old Course”, a work of abstract landscape photography, was awarded “Best in Show” in a juried exhibition at Rowayton Arts Center where Susan is an exhibiting member. Susan was one of five artists selected for an all women juried small group exhibition at the Ridgefield Art Guild as selected by Georgette Gouveia, Editor-in-Chief, WAG Magazine.
Susan is a Board Certified Civil Rights and Education Advocate, Fellow, with the NSEAI and holds a B.A. in Journalism and Government from Lehigh University and a M.A. in Advocacy and Policy from MSU. She is a member of the New York Boyer Foundation, The Women’s Caucus for Art, Rowayton Arts Center, and the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts. She has studios in Metro New York and the Connecticut shoreline where she can be found creating amongst horses and with her best friend Hinckley, the Italian water dog.
